Plot Summary: A few characters have become so powerful, or as a lasting impression on the international popular culture as Astro Boy. The little robot first appeared in 1951 as a character in the famous artist and animator Osamu Tezuka's legendary manga (Japanese comics) and became an instant icon. Subsequently, was billed as the star of her own television series, both in black-and-black in color, with air time in over 40 countries. Astro Boy created the standard for a new form of animation that has become famous in the anime world. Now for the first time, Astro Boy will be brought to life on the big screen. Created with stunning computer animation of Imagi Studios, the film "Astro Boy" is a thrilling story of a true hero. The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 23 October 2009. Set in futuristic Metro City, "Astro Boy" is a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist named Dr. Tenma (Nicolas Cage). Developed by the positive energy "blue", Astro Boy (Freddie Highmore) is endowed with super strength, X-ray vision, incredible speed and the ability to fly. Embarking on a journey in search of acceptance, Astro Boy meets many colorful characters on the road. Through his adventures, he learns the joys and emotions of the human force, and earnings of embracing his destiny. Ultimately, the learning of their friends and family are in danger, Astro Boy quarterbacks super awesome powers and returns to Metro City in a valiant effort to save everything that interests you and understand what it means to be a hero.
